To effectively utilize scientific data resources gained by higher education institutions, meteorological research institutes, and business units in the long term, and promote innovations, core competitiveness, and sustainable development of urban meteorological research, an urban meteorological data sharing platform (https://doi.ium.cn) was constructed relying on the Institute of Urban Meteorology (IUM), CMA, Beijing and became formally open to the public on Oct. 18.

The Platform is open to the people involved in meteorological research and services. On this Platform, users can release, search, and download urban meteorological research data sets. Focusing on the construction of urban meteorological research data sets, it contributes to urban meteorological data sharing and cooperation, serves researchers and business personnel of meteorological sectors at home and abroad, and provides fundamental support for urban fine forecasting R&D, urban extreme weather and climate research, and urban meteorological disaster forecasting and warning capacity building.
