On the morning of Sept. 10, 2024, a Seminar on the Physical Process of Solar Power Generation Oriented Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) was held at the Guangzhou Institute of Tropical and Marine Meteorology, China Meteorological Administration (ITMM). Chief Engineer Chen Min and Dr. Guo Liangchen from the Institute of Urban Meteorology (IUM), CMA, Beijing participated.

Dr. Guo Liangchen made a report entitled On Key Physical Factors Influencing Surface Solar Radiation During Cloud Radiation Based on WRF-Solar. Chen Min shared the working experience of IUM in solar energy and held in-depth discussions with other participants. By participating in this Seminar, we have gained more insights into solar energy-oriented NWP and the status quo of its application. In addition to broadening our horizons, it may also contribute to our future research.
