HUANG Xiangyu
Distinguished Chief Scientist
Dr Xiang-Yu Huang is the distinguished chief scientist at IUM. As a data assimilation expert he has rich experience in data assimilation research, observation system evaluation and numerical weather prediction system development. He used to be the lead scientist of the HIRLAM data assimilation system, the manager of the WRF data assimilation system, and the senior principle scientist of the Singapore numerical prediction system SINGV. His research results are widely cited by scientists in research and operational communities. Due to his outstanding achievements, he was an elected member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecast from 2002 to 2009. He was also the convener of NWP session of the European Geosciences Union General Assembly for several years. more
