Post-Doctoral Research Center

In June 2006, Institute of Urban Meteorology, CMA, Beijing (IUM) was approved to establish the Post-Doctoral Research Center on Urban Meteorology and Urban Disaster Relief. According to the Cooperation Agreement between China Meteorological Administration and Beijing Normal University, the Institute of Urban Meteorology, CMA, Beijing/Beijing Meteorological Service and the Academy of Disaster Reduction and Emergency Management/Beijing Normal University co-train post-graduate doctors, and work closely on urban meteorology and urban disasters. Extensive cooperation would be launched in areas related to economic development, such as urban climate and ecological environment, meteorological disaster early warning, emergency response and disaster prevention and mitigation, urban geographic information systems and applications, urbanization and urban disasters, urban climate changes. With more talents trained, the two parties would work together in more areas.

In July 2015, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Urban Meteorology, CMA, Beijing signed the agreement to co-train post-doctoral researchers, aiming to facilitate academic exchanges on atmospheric sciences and enhance the capabilities to do meteorological research.
